THE ALL-NEW

CERVÉLO R5

GRAVITY'S GREATEST RIVAL

For more than two decades, the Cervélo R5 has been the benchmark for conquering the world’s most challenging climbs. The 5th generation R5 carries that legacy forward in its lightest form yet—just 5.97kg (13.12lbs). Every pedal stroke feels sharp and efficient uphill, while the R5 maintains stiffness and balanced geometry to let you descend predictably and confidently.

Designed with a refined fit that mirrors Cervélo’s fastest race bike, the R5 offers both comfort and efficiency for long days in the saddle or decisive race moments. With a history rooted in grand tour victories and a future built on uncompromising performance, the R5 owns both sides of the mountain.

WHO IS THE RIDER?

The Climbing Enthusiast: You chase elevation, not just speed. The R5 feels featherlight on every ascent yet maintains stiffness where it counts. When the road tips down, it delivers predictable, confident handling so you can enjoy every descent as much as the climb.

The Downhill Artist: Climbs are just the price of admission—you ride for the thrill of the downhill. With its stiff frame and balanced geometry, the R5 handles predictably and confidently at speed, giving you the trust to lean harder, brake later, and savor every curve of the road.

The Purist: You don’t care about owning the latest aero superbike or flashiest build. What matters to you is a bike that feels timeless—classic lines, low weight, and a ride quality that feel second nature. The R5 delivers performance without excess, and it's the bike you trust for every ride.

WHAT WE LOVE

Classic lines, adaptable details, and performance that speaks for itself—here are a few standout features we're most excited about.

CLASSIC SHAPE

The R5 blends understated lines and a timeless silhouette with modern engineering. It may look like a classic road bike, but every detail is optimized for performance—delivering delivering a ride that feels both familiar and forward-thinking.

MODERN TIRE CLEARANCE

Clearance for up to 34mm tires lets you choose how you want to feel on the road. Go narrower for fast, precise handling, or wider for added stability and grip. Either way, the R5 keeps its sharp, predictable control no matter where you ride.

FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION

At just 5.97 kg, the R5 climbs with ease yet never feels fragile. Every detail was optimized to save weight while maintaining stiffness, creating a bike that accelerates sharply uphill and stays composed on the way down.

FULL FEATURED

Weight Savings

The R5 tips the scales at just 5.97 kg / 13.16 lbs in a size 56, making it one of the lightest road bikes Cervélo has ever built. Every detail was reconsidered—the frame, fork, cockpit, and small parts were trimmed down, saving hundreds of grams while maintaining stiffness. Its updated tube profiles use a more defined blend and squared-off tail, smoothing airflow while reducing surface area for added efficiency. The result is a bike that accelerates instantly uphill, descends with composure, and retains the clean, classic look the R5 is known for.

Race-Tuned Fit

The R5 now mirrors the geometry of Cervélo’s fastest race bike, the S5, with a longer reach and lower stack. This puts riders in a position that’s efficient on climbs and balanced on descents, while still comfortable enough for long days in the saddle. The top tube has been rotated up to boost stiffness in the rear end, bringing the frame more in tune with the S5. A slightly lower bottom bracket accommodates larger modern tires, improving aerodynamics, traction, and rolling efficiency. It’s a fit that doesn’t just look pro—it rides that way too.

One-Piece HB18 Cockpit

The new HB18 one-piece handlebar and stem is lighter, stiffer, and more aerodynamic than its predecessor. Shaped with input from the S5, it now features narrower hoods and a modernized drop for improved comfort and control. At speed, it feels more stable, while multiple width and length options make it easier than ever to dial in your perfect fit. Every bar size remains fully UCI-legal under the latest rule changes.

Reserve 34|37 SL Wheels

The Reserve 34|37 SL wheelset trims 60g from the build, but its real strength is balance. Designed specifically for the new R5, the 34mm front delivers agility and control on technical climbs, while the 37mm rear keeps the bike planted and efficient at speed. Together, they create a ride that feels fast, stable, and composed across every road. These wheels make the R5 a complete package for riders who want confidence on both sides of the mountain.

FRAME SIZING

If you're on the cusp between the recommended height range of two sizes, the absolute best thing is to try to ride them both. At a minimum, check the reach/stack measurements on your current bike and compare it to the new model you are looking at to get an idea of a fit you are already comfortable with.

If riding the bike is not an option, our Customer Service can help you identify a size more specific to your body type. Call us at (866) 600-BIKE.

The Cervélo R5 is available in sizes 48cm - 61cm.

BODY DIMENSIONS

Not all bodies at a given height are the same. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso than the average person your height, that may push you towards the smaller of the recommended sizes. If you're all torso and arms, most likely you'll want to size up.
