Frequently Asked Questions

  • Any rider can benefit from proper bicycle fit! Whether you're riding on your local group ride or just getting back into riding after years away from the bike, no one should ride in pain. If you want to be more comfortable on the bike and be as injury preventative as possible, we'd love to help.

  • A fitting will allow for a custom-tailored position on your bike, taking into account the unique and subtle biomechanical nuances of your riding position and solving basic and complex issues; a fitting will cover every aspect of your relationship with your bike. It will address any equipment or position-related ailments and optimize your position for comfort, efficiency, and power. It's like getting a tailored suit!

A bike sizing will take you through some of the basics of bike positioning while using averages. A sizing typically does not consider most of the rider-specific considerations (such as flexibility, knee tracking, and core strength). Sizing is like buying correctly sized suits and having only the pants hemmed. Enough to get you started.

  • Typically, if you are running into more complex issues such as knee pain, inconsistent or asymmetrical saddle issues, or numbness issues, then a Level 3 or even Level 2 fitting is truly more appropriate than more basic services. This will allow your Fit Specialist to find the root cause of the issue(s) and put appropriate solutions into place. If your questions and concerns are more basic, a Level 1 or a la Carte fit service may offer everything you are looking for. If you have any questions on this before signing up for a service, please contact any one of our fit specialists.

  • No. Due to the complex nature and the time required in order to complete a Fitting we are unable to provide this service at no charge. We do however offer a $50 Fit Credit that can be applied at the time of any new bike purchase toward any of our Fitting or Sizing services.

  • Yes, we fit all styles of bikes from any manufacturer. If your bike has proprietary components (seatpost, stem, handlebar, etc.), please be aware that you may have to order different proprietary components directly from the manufacturer or from the shop where you purchased your bike. If your bike came with additional parts, such as headset spacers or aerobar risers, please bring them to your appointment.

  • Occasionally, we find that a bike is either too large or too small to find the rider's ideal position. When this happens, your Fit Specialist will either ask if you'd like to proceed to find the most reasonable position possible on your current bike, or if you'd like to work with one of our Sales Specialists to find a correctly-sized new bike after we make the appropriate size recommendation.

  • Bike fit changes as our bodies change. As we experience differences in flexibility, changes due to injury, variations in training volume, or strength and weight gains/losses, we will also need to re-assess our bike fit. We recommend reevaluating your fit on a yearly basis to ensure the best riding experience possible.

  • We understand that riders face different complexities that may limit their ability to adapt to particular changes. We offer a complimentary follow up fit within 60 days after the original fit date to address any continuing discomfort. We also offer a follow up fit after 60 days at a discounted rate within one year of the original service.

  • Please bring the following to your bike fit appointment:

    • Your bike (ideally in rideable condition and not boxed)
    • Jersey and shorts/bibs - whatever clothing you ride in
    • Shoes. If you plan to purchase new shoes during your fit, please arrive 30 minutes early to work with the sales team for try-on and shoe selection.
    • Pedals (if they are not already installed on the bike)
    • Any proprietary parts that came with your bike.
  • We have a limited number of appointment times, and last-minute cancellations are difficult to fill. To help us accommodate all of our clients, the following fees apply:

    • $50 Cancellation Fee: Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice.

    • No-Show Fee: 50% of the scheduled service price.

We understand that emergencies happen and will do our best to work with you when they arise. Thank you for your understanding.
