The all-new

TRANCE X ADV E+ ELITE

FULL POWER. FULL SPEED.

While it may feel like a faux pas, here it is - the goldilocks bike, The Giant Trance X Advanced E+ Elite. It makes a new class of e-bikes by pairing a full-power 85nm motor with a smaller lightweight battery pack to give the rider all the options they need.

Your friends with lightweight bikes are going for a quick hour rip on the local trails after work, perfect. But the weekend arrives, and if your full-power friends want to go on an all-day excursion, we've got you. By working with Panasonic on new battery technology, the Trance Elite allows the rider to run a full-power motor from a lightweight battery that can never provide the power needed to give you full gas.

Are you worried about the range? Fear not. The Trance Elite can expand the battery beyond 600wh for long days on the bike with an additional lightweight 200wh expander or through the use of the clever Giant Ride App. It can tell the motor to deliver more or less power to increase range and increase or decrease the initial torque to make the bike feel more playful or help save battery for extra range.

WHO IS THE RIDER?

At its core, the Giant Elite is an all-around trail experience. But remember that a poorly designed bike with a great electronics system is still a bad bike. The Giant Trance Elite shares the much loved and stable trail geometry of the other Trance trail bikes in Giant's line. In addition, it integrates their super-sensitive Maestro suspension system to turn any chunky trail into a magic carpet ride.

Considering the motor and battery system of the Trance Elite, riders best served by the bike are looking for a bike that can do it all. They want the feeling of a lightweight bike that flicks through corners with ease some days and want to make an all-day adventure on other days. The brilliance of the new Elite platform is the bike's ability to be tuned in the broadest range of styles of any platform we carry at Mike's Bikes.

Component Details

Giant didn't cut corners to lighten the bike; it still features all the needed components to make the bike perform excellently on trail.

WHAT A SHOWOFF.

Truly something new, the Giant Trance X Advanced E+ Elite is focused on bridging the gap between full-power and lightweight e-bike experiences without making huge compromises to any riding style. The Trance Elite covers most types of riders of any bike you can buy today, thanks to its unique features.

Maestro Suspension

Maestro Suspension: Giant's long-standing suspension technology, Maestro, works off the same 4-pivot idea that started in 2005 but has gone through constant evolutions to make it lighter, more sensitive, and more tunable for the rider. While it's an obvious standout in the Giant Trance Elite, you'll also see it used throughout the rest of the Giant MTB Family, focusing on improving the platform's suspension activity, efficiency, and independence from trail force.

1. Suspension Activity: But adjusting the location of the suspension pivots, Giant can tune the sensitivity of the suspension system for the type of bumps expected for the platform. With a trail platform like Trance, they look at providing a more sensitive set-up to deal with trail chatter and keep the wheels planted, while on a longer travel platform like the Giant Reign (160mm+ Enduro), they shift the priority to large hard impacts.

2. Efficiency: The key to a bike feeling quick is its ability to apply power to the rear wheel. Giant can tune the suspension so that input from the rider does not engage the suspension. This means that while you're digging deep, trying to create extra power, and bobbing up and down on the bike, your movements do not cause the suspension to activate.

3. Independence: Predictability in rough terrain is critical to performance on the trail. Maestro Suspension allows the engineers at Giant to reduce or practically remove input from the trail back into the suspension system. For the rider, this means that regardless of how bumpy the trail is and how active the suspension is the rider can continue to pedal or remain stable without feeling the bike and pedals reacting to the terrain.

Sync Drive Motor

While the Sync Drive Pro motor is not unique to the Trance Elite models, its pairing with the new lightweight EnergyPak 400wh battery is. Until now, smaller lightweight batteries were not able to discharge fast enough to provide the power requirements of a full-power motor. This is one of the key reasons that lightweight e-bikes are often limited to 65nm or less motors. Developed with Panasonic, the new EnergyPak 400 battery used in the Trance Elite and LIV Intrigue models allows the battery to provide the needed power to use a full-power motor on a lightweight system.ble.

Ride App

While the Trance Elite can run at full power and full torque beyond an hour, sometimes you want to manage a larger ride. The Giant Ride App allows the rider to quickly tune their bike's experience to fit the day's adventure. Want to smash the pedals like a Norwegian metal band? Set the bike with full-power and full torque. Interested in a longer ride? Adjust the bike's support, torque, and launch independently to give you the fun experience where you want it without unnecessarily draining the battery.

1. Support: The amount of assistance provided by the motor. The Trance Elite can give the rider up to 400 additional watts or be tuned down to provide a more natural ride.

2.Torque: Maxing at 85nm of torque, the Trance Elite can give you the real whoosh of a full-power bike or be dialed back incrementally to save battery and provide more natural assistance.

3. Launch Control: Sensing when the rider is applying the most pressure to the pedals, launch control can reduce the time needed for the bike to add assistance. It can give you instantaneous acceleration or slowly ramp the power up to help it feel more natural.

Component Spec

Often, when a brand tries to develop a lightweight platform, they do it by cutting weight from critical components required for durability or performance. Giant has stayed the course and reduced the battery, motor, and frame weight, leaving the components that take the biggest beating alone to do their job. They spec proper 220mm front /200mm rear brake rotors to help manage heat build-up under heavy braking. They have prioritized durable wheel specs to ensure that even when your confidence puts you in a rock garden that your talent can't check, you'll still have a true wheel to get your battered and bruised body back to the car.
