The All-New

Stigmata

THE RISE-TO-ANY-OCASSION BIKE.

How can one bike do so many things so well? The all-new Stigmata 4 goes beyond being merely a jack of all trades; instead, it reigns as the ultimate master of them all.

Of all of the gravel bikes we carry at Mike's Bikes, the fourth-generation Santa Cruz Stigmata has some of the most progressive features available. Its trail-inspired geometry inspires confidence when you're on technical off-road terrain and makes the bike feel more stable at speed when you're out at the races. Santa Cruz has taken a page from its vast mountain bike experience and radically adjusted the geometry for all bike sizes to feature a much longer reach paired with a shorter stem than any gravel bike before it, along with much slacker head tube angles. We'll get into what that means down below. Still, it is revolutionary for how gravel bikes are designed and a clever way of making the bike handle better in all extreme conditions without sacrificing its ability to cruise on the daily.

WHO IS THE RIDER?

If you're looking for a gravel bike, the case could easily be made that the Stigmata is for you. Its blend of go-fast features and confident stability play well with all types of riders.

Wanting to race? Yup - The weapon of Choice for the Santa Cruz Factory Racing team (obviously) has been piloted to win at the highest level of the sport at the gravel mecca, the Unbound 200.

Looking for a stable light touring bike? You bet - the extra stability provided by the updated longer and slacker geometry helps the bike feel more stable while loaded with bike packing bags and makes it easy to cover terrain of all types.

A trail shredder? Indeed - The geometry has been corrected to accept up to 40mm of front suspension travel and any 27.2 Dropper post. For those skilled enough, you can likely make some of your trail MTB buddies blush when you're keeping up with them on the local single track and then still able to ride home without extra strain.

WHAT WE LOVE.

The Stigmata has always been a favorite for all types of riders, but here are some of the features that make the bike stand out above its competitors.

Progressive Geometry

Unlike any other bike in our lineup, the Stigmata's geometry seamlessly blends the best features of comfort, speed, and stability, all within one exceptional package.

Suspension

It's not for everybody, but now you've got the option. The Stigmata has been adjusted to run up to 40mm of front suspension without affecting the bike's standard geo. This changes so much about the bike and makes it more fun than ever.

Future-Proof

With a geo ahead of its time, the ability to run suspension, and features like a new UDH rear Derailleur mount and tire clearance up to 50mm, The Stigmata 4 has already ventured into every conceivable territory for gravel bikes, leaving few unexplored paths for its competitors to tread.

FULL FEATURED.

We can't list them all well... we could, but If they don't convince you to order the updated Stigmata or visit our stores to experience it firsthand, we're not sure what will!

Geometry

The Stigmata 4 features the most progressive geometry of any gravel bike we carry at Mike's Bikes. Compared to the previous generation, Santa Cruz has lengthened the bike to help add stability on the road and confidence on the dirt. To achieve this new geo, the frame (specifically for size 56cm) boasts an extended reach of 32mm, 5mm longer chainstays, and a 62mm increase in wheelbase. Moreover, the headtube angle takes a 2.5° slacker approach, settling at 69.5°.

The numbers translate to significant advantages for the rider. The longer bike and slacker headtube (HT) angle contribute to greater stability when riding at higher speeds on gravel, helping to maintain the rider's centered weight and resist road feedback. On trails, the elongated wheelbase creates a sense of confidence as the front wheel is positioned further ahead when the trail descends.

Santa Cruz has equipped all bikes with shorter 70mm stems to keep the steering agile. This keeps the effective reach to the handlebar unchanged, ensuring that despite the dramatic geometry changes, the cockpit will feel familiar and as expected.

Tire Clearance

Ample tire clearance is vital as it offers you versatile riding options. Opt for a narrower file tread tire to experience heightened speed on gravel roads and pavement, or switch to a 50mm knobby tire for enhanced confidence on the trails. The new Stigmata takes tire clearance to a substantial 50mm, providing ample space for mud clearance on all sides of both front and rear tires.

Suspension Correction

The ability to run up to 40mm of front suspension without affecting the bike's geometry! Santa Cruz has heard your requests. The new Stigmata corrects for suspension forks by reducing the size of the headtube and lengthening the fork crown. This means you'll have the same stack height as the previous generation. Adding a suspension fork to the bike will swap interchangeably with the rigid fork, making it possible to add comfort and off-road performance without affecting how the bike handles.

Mounts, Storage, Ease of Use

More than ever, the Stigmata has considered all the different gravel riding styles. The stigmata now feature the Glovebox storage compartment, making it easy to store your pump, tube, and anything else you want inside the frame's downtube while keeping the center of gravity low. Additionally, it has three bottle cage mounts and minimal fender mounts for rain and mudguards. The Stigmata is also compatible with any 27.2mm dropper post and can now accept any UDH-compatible read derailleur for extra durability and shift quality—tons of great details.

FRAME SIZING

If you're on the cusp between the recommended height range of two sizes, the absolute best thing is to try to ride them both. At a minimum, check the stack/reach measurements on your current bike and compare it to the new model you are looking at to get an idea of a fit you are already comfortable with. If riding the bike is not an option, our Customer Service can help you identify a size more specific to your body type. Call us at (866) 600-BIKE.

The Stigmata is available in sizes S - XXL.

Body Dimension

Not all bodies at a given height are the same. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso than the average person your height, that may push you towards the smaller of the recommended sizes. If you're all torso and arms, most likely you'll want to size up.
