Mike’s Bikes has partnered with Flex to support HSA/FSA reimbursement for eligible purchases. Qualified customers can pay out of pocket and submit their purchase for reimbursement using pre-tax HSA or FSA funds. With approval and a Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN), this can result in net savings of ~30–40%, depending on your tax bracket.

Qualifying customers can use HSA/FSA funds for in-store purchases through a simple reimbursement process. Start by confirming your purchase is an approved product and obtaining a Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN) through a brief telehealth consultation to verify your eligibility. Then, submit your Mike’s Bikes purchase to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.

Eligibility may vary by plan, so we recommend checking with your HSA/FSA provider for specific requirements and coverage details. Customers must complete and be approved for a LOMN on or before the date of purchase to qualify for reimbursement.

HSA/FSA reimbursement allows members to pay out-of-pocket and later submit documentation for reimbursement. Members must first complete a brief telehealth consultation and be approved for a Letter of Medical Necessity to qualify.

A Letter of Medical Necessity is a document that determines whether a customer is eligible to purchase certain dual-purpose items. The customer will be approved or disapproved directly within the consultation flow. Flex will send the customer their LOMN, typically within two hours of their telehealth consultation.

Typically approved users will receive their Letter of Medical Necessity in less than two hours.

If you do not see your Letter of Medical Necessity, please check your spam folder, as sometimes emails from notifications@withflex.com may be automatically filtered as spam by some email service providers. If you still can’t find it, please email support@withflex.com and let them know the email address associated with your purchase.

Reimbursement times vary but can take several weeks. For a specific timeline, contact your HSA or FSA administrator directly.

In order to qualify to use your HSA or FSA card for approved products, the IRS requires you to have a Letter of Medical Necessity. Mike’s Bikes has partnered with Flex to enable asynchronous telehealth visits as part of our checkout. Within 24 hours of your purchase, Flex will email you both an itemized receipt.

We strongly recommend checking with your HSA/FSA provider to see if a purchase is eligible prior to completing the purchase. However, if you believe your claim has been wrongly denied, please send over any response from your HSA/FSA provider to us so we can share it with Flex and receive guidance on the next best steps to take. Please note that employer-sponsored FSAs can determine what products are eligible beyond the IRS’s guidelines, so it’s extremely important to check prior to purchase.
