THE ALL-NEW

SANTA CRUZ
NOMAD 7

Big Travel, No Tradeoffs

The new Santa Cruz Nomad pushes deeper into what makes a great long-travel trail bike, combining descending confidence, real-world durability, and now improved efficiency when it’s time to climb back up. With redesigned VPP suspension, it delivers better traction, more composure under braking, and a smoother, more controlled ride through rough terrain.

Built with 170mm of travel, MX wheels, and confidence-first geometry, the Nomad 7 is made for riders who want to go bigger without giving up the ability to get there. It’s a bike that feels at home on steep descents, technical terrain, and rides that don’t follow a plan.

WHO IS THE RIDER?

The Nomad has always been the bike you choose when you refuse to compromise on the descent. The Nomad 7 is built for riders who prioritize the way down but still want a bike that pedals efficiently enough to get back to the top.

It’s a natural fit for aggressive trail and enduro riders who want more travel, more control, and more confidence when things get steep or technical. You’re the type of rider who isn’t worried about a few scratches if it means finding the best line, pushing a little further, or riding something you weren’t sure was possible. While others chase outright speed, you’re chasing the best line down.

This is the bike for riders who want maximum capability without stepping into a full downhill platform.

FULL FEATURED

The Nomad 7 brings Santa Cruz’s most capable pedal bike into a more refined, more efficient package. From updated suspension improvements to smarter frame details, every element is designed to improve ride quality.

More Control, Better Efficiency

The Nomad’s suspension is getting overhauled in Gen 7. Santa Cruz has redesigned the VPP Suspension building on updates first introduced with the Bronson 5. These refinements improve pedaling efficiency, reduce kickback on rougher terrain, and increase traction under braking for a smoother, more controlled ride. The result is a more balanced ride feel from climb to descent, without sacrificing big-hit capability.

Built for Bigger Terrain

With 170mm of travel front and rear paired with a MX wheel setup, the Nomad 7 delivers the stability, rollover, and control needed for steep descents and fast, technical trails. The 29” front wheel maintains speed and confidence through rough sections, while the 27.5” rear keeps handling quick and responsive when the trail tightens up.

Confidence Comes Standard

A slack 63.3° head angle, size-specific geometry, and tuned frame stiffness ensure consistent ride quality and compliance across every size. The Nomad 7 stays stable at speed while remaining responsive in tighter terrain, giving riders confidence when trails get steep or unpredictable. Every frame is built to deliver the same balanced, controlled feel.

Smarter Details, Built In

Glovebox V2 offers improved in-frame storage with easier access and a more secure fit for ride essentials. Top tube accessory mounts, mechanical routing on all frames, and integrated chain guide compatibility add practical functionality without adding complexity. These details make the Nomad 7 easier to live with and better equipped for long days on the trail.

FRAME SIZING

If you're on the cusp between the recommended height range of two sizes, the absolute best thing is to try to ride them both. At a minimum, check the stack/reach measurements on your current bike and compare it to the new model you are looking at to get an idea of a fit you are already comfortable with.

If riding the bike is not an option, our Customer Service can help you identify a size more specific to your body type. Call us at (866) 600-BIKE.

The Santa Cruz Nomad 7 is available in sizes S - XXL.

PERSONAL PREFERENCE

A larger size frame will be more stable, and will give you more room to move without upsetting the weight-balance of the bike. The larger size will put the front wheel further in front of you, which gives the feeling of security and conversely, it will require more significant body movements when you WANT to shift the weight-bias of the bike. Think hard about your riding style and how active/intuitive you want it to be vs stable and speedy. You'll need to work a bit harder to muscle the larger bike around.

BODY DIMENSIONS

Not all bodies at a given height are the same. If you have longer legs and a shorter torso than the average person your height, that may push you towards the smaller of the recommended sizes. If you're all torso and arms, most likely you'll want to size up.
