M50/Fifty Wheelset

Each model in the Enve M series is designed with a specific rider in mind, and classifies riders by the style of riding they most identify with by designating a ratio that represents a rider's inclination towards descending vs. ascending. As the name suggests, the M50 Fifty Wheelset embodies 50% Descend and 50% Climb. With its ability to travel skyward at an unprecedented rate, the M50 Fifty rim honors the cross country racer who finds gratification in reaching the top of the heap first, but knows well of the importance of cornering constancy, and wheel resilience. However, at an insane 1,361 grams for the set, you might be quick to write off the M50 Fifty as a wheel that only knows the word "up". This is not the case with the M50 Fifty, as Enve knows there is more to smashing the XC course than merely climbing like a goat. The M50 Fifty delivers a ride quality defined by vertical compliance which improves efficiency through testy terrain and prevents fatigue caused by hard hours on a hard bike.

The gapping 21mm wide rim, is optimized to perform within 1.9" and 2.25" tire widths, resulting in higher cornering confidence levels and an overall more established ride. Reserved for 0-100mm of suspension travel, the M50 Fifty refines the touching point between rim and tire for more precise and predictable handling. By eliminating the hook from the top of the rim sidewall, unnecessary material is removed to save on weight while revamping the rim with precise dimensions for a seamless tubeless setup, allowing riders to run a lower tire pressure for more stability, and zero pinch flats. The proprietary rim shape and construction enable the highest form of impact resistance and overall durability.

Where Enve takes wheel building to new levels is the fact that the M50 Fifty rim is not drilled for spoke holes and valve holes. When the rims are molded, separate molds for different spoke counts are used, allowing the rims to be molded around the spoke holes. This allows the carbon fibers to be routed around the hole to create continuous, unbroken fibers in the rim, and strength to each spoke hole. This enables spoke holes to naturally resist much higher spoke tensions and more uniform tensions around the rim. The result is a stronger, lighter, easy-to-build, low maintenance, high quality wheel.
