Road cycling helmets have the difficult job of protecting against a wide range of impacts while also breathing well and being ultra-lightweight. Giro managed to solve all three of these problems with the new Aether MIPS. The engineers at Giro took the proven MIPS technology and decided to sandwich it between two layers of EPS foam, thus creating their new proprietary MIPS Spherical technology. By taking the MIPS liner out of the inside of the helmet and moving it into the foam, Giro was able to make the Aether breathe incredibly well and retain the comfort that their helmets are known for.
Combining the MIPS Spherical technology with their high-flow Roc Loc 5+ Air fit system and 3-way fit tuning allowed Giro to create a simple, elegant helmet that is extremely safe, breathes fantastically well, and is feather-light.
