Col du Pantoll Ride
Alternate Routes to Accommodate Road Closures On HWY 1
Meet at Mike's Bikes of Sausalito at 5:45pm for a sharp 6:00pm roll out.
The winter storms have caused quite a bit of damage to our beloved CdP route. There are two major road closures along Highway 1 which will alter our routes until the closures are opened. Want to experience the closest route to the original CdP course? Dust off that CX / gravel / adventure bike and we'll take you around each closure. This year, CdP is all about the D(irt) route!
All are welcome for this spirited ride up Mt. Tam. Start and finish at Mike's Bikes of Sausalito. 'A' group is fast-paced, (14-16 mph*); 'B' group is moderate (12-14 mph*). 'C' group will ride a shorter route at a relaxed pace (10-12 mph*). "D" group goes up Coastal View Trail and connects at the Pantoll Ranger Station. Last Wednesdays of every month feature a free post-ride BBQ with beverages. Come join the fun!
Our Spring 2017 D(irt) route will go up the same Shoreline HWY climb as before, descend the road to Muir Beach, climb up to Coastal, then dirt sweetness to Pantoll. Descend the road back to the shop via the traditional road route.
A / B Routes
These two fast paced groups will ascend the same Shoreline Highway climb out of Mill Valley, descend on the road to Muir Beach, and then climb up to Pantoll on the road via four corners. Descend the road back to the shop via the traditional road route.
C Group Route
Our beloved C group route is our most user friendly route catering for those not interested in KOM-ing, pacelining, or chasing anyone up the mountain. Shoreline Highway climb out of Mill Valley, descend on the road to Muir Beach, and then climb from there. C group climbs to four corners and then descends back to the shop.
*This ride has a lot of climbing so your average speed will be slower than what you may be used to on a flatter ride.
This will save you the trouble of doing it at the event.
