Our 5-Year Maintenance Plan, offered for $150.00 with any new bike purchase, covers the following services for 5 full years from the date of purchase:
Full tune-ups ($99 each)
Wheel truing ($20-40 each)
Bearing adjustments ($5-15 each)
Labor to replace brake pads ($20-40 each)
Labor to replace chain ($20 each)
Labor to replace cables ($20 each)
Labor to replace a tire or tube ($10 each)
Brake and derailleur adjustments ($20 each)
Our 5-Year Maintenance Plan covers, free of charge:
Full "tune-ups," complete description of which can be obtained in any of our service departments. Generally, "tune-ups" cover all basic maintenance of the bicycle, including: Gear adjustments, brake adjustments, wheel truing and tensioning, bearing adjustments, safety checks, drivetrain lubrication, pivot point lubrication, tightening and inspection of all bolts and fasteners.
Wheel truing, tensioning, dishing, and inspection.
Derailleur adjustments, tuning, inspection, and lubrication.
Adjustment of non-fixed bearings, including headset, bottom bracket, hubs, and pedals.
Labor charges for replacement of brake cables and derailleur cables (NOT housing).
Labor charge for replacement of brake pads.
Labor charge for replacement of chain.
Lubrication of pivot points and drivetrain.
Our Plan does NOT cover:
Cleaning of the bicycle or drivetrain.
ANY parts, whatsoever.
Labor charge for replacement of parts, other than those itemized above.
Installation of accessories.
Repair of damage from accidents or crashes.
Repair of damage from abuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance.
Any internal service to suspension forks or rear shocks, other than routine lubrication.
Terms and Conditions:
Mike's Bikes sells, for $150.00, a 5 Year Service Maitenance Plan sticker which, when affixed to a new bicycle purchased from us, entitles the original purchaser of the bicycle and the Plan to unlimited service, further description of which follows, for 5 years from the purchase date of the Plan.
The Plan is offered only to customers who have purchased a new bicycle from us within the past 90 days. The Plan may not be offered on bicycles more than 90 days old, and it will never be offered on bicycles not purchased directly from us. Whether or not a Plan is offered on a particular bicycle is at the sole and absolute discretion of the management of Mike's Bikes. We reserve the right to refuse to offer a Plan to any one for any reason. We reserve the right to cancel any Plan for any reason, the only remedy of such cancellation being the refund of the unused portion of the Plan purchase price to the original customer. The Plan does not include an option to renew, and the Plan is not sold for any duration other than 5 years.

The Plan is non-transferable under any circumstance; it is only valid for the original owner of both the bicycle and the Plan. We reserve the right to request the original purchase documentation at any time, and may refuse service for failure to provide such documentation. The Plan is not transferrable to a different bicycle, other than that bicycle for which the Plan was originally purchased and to which the Plan sticker was originally affixed. Removal or attempted removal of the Plan sticker other than by our staff, immediately VOIDS the Plan, for which no remedy is available. The loss, theft, or destruction of the original bicycle for which the Plan was purchased, and to which the Plan sticker was originally affixed, immediately VOIDS the Plan , for which no remedy is available.
The decision as to whether or not a particular item is covered by the Plan is at the sole and absolute discretion of the management of Mike's Bikes. Bicycles covered by the Plan must be scheduled into the store's service schedule, in the same manner as those bicycles which are not covered by the Plan. That is, the Plan does not guarantee any particular time frame for completion of services, and timing of said completion relies heavily on several variables, including the service department's staff levels, and the number of customers requiring service at that time.
The 5 Year Maintenance Plan provides you with the peace-of-mind that your new bike will remain in excellent working order for a long time! Of course, it doesn't mean that you'll NEVER incur any maintenance expense, but it will cut down on that expense considerably. It is simply a service to keep the bike tuned, wheels trued, gears adjusted. I'm a nut about noises and creaking sounds on the bike so I take my bike in all the time! If I hear a noise, think I need adjustment, I simply take it in and wait a few minutes until they are done and BAM, I am ready to roll. Golden, don't leave this LBS without it!
I bought a 2011 Stumpjumper 29" Hardtail along with the service package. I have been very pleased with the service plan and have already gotten my money's worth in less than 8 months. I move between [...] and the [...] and I've taken the bike to[...]. At each location I was treated with outstanding serivce and every single time my expectations have been exceeded. I had an issue with a rear wheel and the [...] team comp'ed me a great set of new wheels that were an upgrade because of the warranty. I've rented road bikes and each time was treated to a great servicing of my Stumpjumper that I rode in to take the road bike out. I will never buy a bike anywhere else but [...] and I will always buy the service plan. [...] Rocks.
